Advance Care Planning
Advance care planning is a series of steps you can take to help you plan for your future health care. It can help those closest to you to make health care decisions on your behalf if you become too unwell in the future to make decisions for yourself.

Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA)
The national peak body representing not-for-profit and faith-based providers of residential and community care, and housing and support for people with a disability and their carers.

Alzheimer's Australia
Advocates for the needs of people living with dementia, and their families and carers. As the peak body and charity for all types of dementia, it provides advocacy, support services, education and information.

Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM)
The professional society for geriatricians and other medical practitioners acts to represent the needs of its members and the wider community in a bid to constantly review and improve the care of the older people in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG)
Australia's national peak body linking professionals working across the multidisciplinary fields of ageing.

Australian Human Rights Commission (Age Discrimination)
This government body oversees the application of federal legislation in the area of human rights, anti-discrimination, social justice and privacy. Their work in age discrimination includes research, policy advice and education initiatives that tackle the attitudes and stereotypes that can lead to age discrimination. They aim to help individuals and organisations around the country understand their rights and meet their legal responsibilities, especially in the workplace.

The national initiative to raise awareness of anxiety and depression, providing resources for recovery, management and resilience.

Carers Australia
The national peak body representing Australia's carers. They work collaboratively with the Carers' Associations to deliver a range of essential national carer services.

Consumer Health Forum of Australia
The peak organisation providing leadership in representing the interests of Australian healthcare consumers. They work to achieve safe, good quality, timely healthcare for all Australians.

Council on the Ageing (COTA) Australia
The national peak organisation representing the rights, needs and interests of older Australians.

Department of Health - Aged Care Information
Information on contacts and services on ageing and aged care issues. This website also includes The Age Page, which is a collection of useful contacts in each State and Territory.

Department of Health - Living Longer, Living Better
The Australian Government's Living Longer Living Better aged care reform package aims to create a flexible and seamless system that provides older Australians with more choice, control and easier access to a full range of services. This website also contains links to other relevant Government strategies.

Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV)
Represents a common voice for ethnic and multicultural communities. Their member-driven Aged Care Policy Sub-Committee provides input for ECCV's development of policy and advocacy.

Provides easy access to trusted, quality health information and advice online and over the phone.

My Aged Care
This website has been established by the Australian Government to help people navigate the aged care system. They also have a helpline 1800 200 422, for information on a range of aged care services, respite services, counselling and emotional support for carers available locally and nationally.

National Prescribing Service (NPS) - Multiple Medicines Use
The Living with Multiple Medicines project is about people's experience of taking five or more medicines by seeing and hearing them share their personal stories on film.

National Seniors Productive Ageing Centre (NSPAC)
Established by National Seniors Australia to advance knowledge and understanding of all aspects of productive ageing to improve the quality of life of people aged 50 and over.
