Other paths to parenthood – Adoption and foster care

As part of their infertility journey, several people we talked to had considered other paths to parenthood including adoption and fostering. One person had experienced respite fostering, however no-one had gone on to adopt a child, some because of the restrictions surrounding adoption and others for emotional reasons. Some people also talked about surrogacy as another possible path to parenthood, however only one person had pursued this – you can read more about Andrea’s story here and in Donor conception and surrogacy.
