Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are warned that images and voices of deceased people may appear in the Experiences of Ageing content, in accordance with the participants’ expressed wishes.
We interviewed 56 people (including six couples) about their experiences of ageing. Our researchers travelled to urban and regional areas throughout Australia to talk to people in their own homes. Participants spoke about what is important to them as they age; and what it feels like to be getting older – physically, mentally and in their social context. They talked about their changing personal relationships, pragmatic life decisions, health, illness and death. We hope you find these stories interesting and informative. You can read more about the topics by selecting from the list to the left. You can also view people’s individual stories and profiles from the tab above.
