Age at interview: 50
Selina: Selina, aged 50, recalls asthma from the age of four. She spent a lot of time in hospitals and had to move away from the family and live with her grandmother until a teenager to manage her asthma. She recalls medicine that destroyed her teeth and oxygen tanks that left scars where it was inserted.
She is married with one adult child and has tertiary qualifications. She was able to work successfully in sales and customer service, but is currently unemployed. She would like to see people with illness not care about being treated differently because although sick, at the end of the day they're alive.
